Continuing on, a bit. To address Mr. Coulter's concern for something as important as "Patient Confidentiality", I should state that I do support that concept. But not as an objective legality. I support it as a subjective concept of integrity and trust - which is often abandoned in the guise of "law". But that's all in the gospels, so...
Anyway, as much as the institution or industry of Social Work fails to breath life into the downtrodden, it has provided me with an opportunity to be intentional with persons, families, and communities that I would have probably would have never known, much less listened to, suffered with, learned from, and other such things. Being afforded the opportunity to work in a grassroots organization has increased these opportunities, twofold, because we have so much less of a "legal" framework or what-have-you. However, it is almost inevitable that this organization will become much more structured in order to "afford" itself, so they can offer insurance and other benefits to it's employees. Hopefully, not for a long time.
