Please read it (mere 10 pages), reflect on it, and comment on it. It is very important. You really don't need context for the chapter, except that there was a great and devastating dust-storm, having destroyed the crop, which seems to have given the bank an excuse to take the land from the tenants.


"Three dollars a day" to destroy homes, soil, and families. Thankfully, the government eventually created "Social Work", which, like "Hotel California" or poverty - "You can checkout any time you like, But you can never leave." But we can find you a temp job, if you get in line. and there is always Wal-Mart, if you have reliable transportation, and you don't have a criminal record. and leave a message if you need food stamps, and especially if you need a medical card.
