Something Matt Blinn shared with us at our Easter gathering:

"Encouragement for God’s people to live out resurrection:

...What does God see when He looks at our neighborhoods? God sees people that are broken; He sees communities that are broken; He sees a system that is broken. But God wants to heal people; He wants to fix communities; He has spoken an alternative system. And He envisions that this supernatural "repair" will be administered by a community of faith, a particular and visible gathering of followers of the Way that carry a subversive message of reconstruction.

This particular and peculiar community will be radical in it's discipleship, to the point of being labeled extremists. They will be known by the simplicity with which they live their lives. They will turn their backs on the worlds system of success and possessions, desecrating the system by freely giving of their money to advance the kingdom and it's message. They will render obsolete the concepts of "Private Property" and "Radical Individualism" by sharing their homes, their meals, their possessions; even their lives. Out of this culture of simplicity and sharing will emerge a creative and artistic people who desire to use their gifts and abilities to point to the Creator. These artists will use varied mediums to paint a picture of what life can be when it is shaped by the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the God called Yahweh. These artists will join together to create environments, "Telling Places", where people will meet and experience God, possibly for the first time.

This community may be, and probably will be persecuted by a few, dismissed by some, and laughed at by most. But a few will find in this gathered people...the radical lifestyle they have been looking for. A few will find in this people...an alternative way of existing that brings meaning to their lives. A few will find in this people...Jesus. Life. Rebirth." - Mark Palmer
