An Icon

Andrei Tarkovsky's "Andrei Rublev"

A film about an icon painter, whom nothing is really known.

A film without a substantial narrative to follow, as far as I could tell.

A film written, filmed, acted, and directed with the pace of the period to which it pertains (monumentally and mindfully slow).

A film that is Eastern Orthodox.

A film that reminds us, that even though our post-modern world is full of images, we do not understand imagination, nor can we tolerate it...

...so long as we have microwave religion...
