Maine

Dark, tall pine trees.
Large, infinite grey waters, full of life, full of mystery.
Rocky shores, that cut the soft skin of our feet and ankles,
making us bleed.
I immediately recognize the North East Atlantic,
and smile,
'cause she feels the depth of our relationship,
as I do,
and I remember again,
that the ocean may be our greatest symbol,
for our relationship with God, our creator.
Many rivers taught me, many wisdoms,
but the ocean,
The Ocean(!),
gave me salvation...manifesting the phrase,
"fear not",
yet remaining mysterious, dark, and infinite.
One can only bow in the presence of the ocean,
and be baptized by it,
allowing the current, to have way,
as two beings, become one.
