We met a fella across the street from us yesterday. He came over to meet us, actually. Xenos has a decent presence in the neighborhood, and he lives in one of their community houses. He asked us what church we were apart of - and we answered "Landing Place". He then asked, "where's that at?" - to which I then looked at the others, looked down at the street, and then looked up and said, "It's right here". and I realized how true that had become for us - how enmeshed our "church" (spiritual) life, work life, family life, social life had become. right here in our neighborhood - in our homes. it isn't perfect, but it is beautiful, and seemingly and symbolically "set-apart" from our hyper-individualized culture, industry, and religion. Compost.
