Labor. Intense.

We are, by default, apparently, boiling hot water (you know, little house on the prairie) to put into the birthing tub. Hot water tank emptied a little early.

It is two o'clock in the morning - January 7th. blinns are on their way for the second time today, from bowling green. Midwives just arrived.

kelsie had some heavy contractions and signs of early labor this morning - but the more people that stopped by (as typical on a Sunday, when you are 41 weeks pregnant) the less the intensity. but by late evening, as the people left and went to bed, the contractions came back, at 4 to 7 minutes apart. kelsie said all along, she didn't want many people around during labor, and her body held out until she could be less worried about her space. interesting.

kids are asleep, so that is good. hoping it will be done by the time they get up.

coffee is brewing - Simon & Garfunkel are on downstairs - The Album Leaf are playing up in the birthing unit (also our guest room). water is still boiling.

midwives look different in the middle of the night - I probably do to, I guess.
