"And so, as I said in my speech, we'll do everything we can to protect the American people, and continue to stay on the offense, but we've also got to defeat the ideology of hate with an ideology of liberty, because in the long run it's going to secure peace for your children and grandchildren." -President George W. Bush

hhmmm....wrong "L" word.

The ideology of Liberty is a house built on sand.

I will go ahead and project that if we go to war with Iran, there will either be a draft, or a nuke. I really hope that this temporary "liberty" (ours and theirs) is worth every life...and that we remain naive and confident in securing peace through military actions rather than through dependence on God.

or you could just let go and be lifted to the sky." -bright eyes

And if industrialization didn't provide great technology for several world wars, it sure has enhanced good environmental practices...

"Since the 1860s, increased industrialization and shrinking forests have helped raise the atmosphere's CO2 level by almost 100 parts per million—and Northern Hemisphere temperatures have followed suit. Increases in temperatures and greenhouse gasses have been even sharper since the 1950s.

Water vapor is the most important greenhouse gas. Carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide also contain heat and help keep Earth's temperate climate balanced in the cold void of space. Human activities, burning fossil fuels and clearing forests, have greatly increased concentrations by producing these gases faster than plants and oceans can soak them up. The gases linger in the atmosphere for years, meaning that even a complete halt in emissions would not immediately stop the warming trend they promote." -National Geographic
