From January 3rd, 2006...
it's raining frogs
It has not been easy, and I know the weight is much to bear. Maybe sometimes unbearable.
However, it is apparent to me these days that the Kingdom of God is very much within us, and very much among us.
Our non-violence is essential to so many suffering around us.
What if there had been nobody to make Deybi smile, or hold Deybi's mother as she weeps for her son?
What if there was no community in Grandview to surround the family of Luis Jones-Pasadas?
What if there was nobody to be present with the parents of Crystal Greiner?
What if there was nobody to pray with Mark Palmer?
What if...?
“There aren’t eight stories. There’s only one. Only one story.” - PT Anderson
This is the Kingdom of God - it is not invisible.
It is not invisible.
This is hope.
This is who we have become, who we are, and who we are becoming.
Let us suffer with one another.
Let us feast with one another.
Let us not give up meeting together.
Let us unite under this Reign of God.
Let us dance when we hear songs of freedom.
"I have just come to a realization! This scroll by Broken Sword contains no secrets of his swordsmanship. What this reveals is his highest ideal. In the first state, man and sword become one and each other. Here, even a blade of grass can be used as a lethal weapon. In the next stage, the sword resides not in the hand but in the heart. Even without a weapon, the warrior can slay his enemy from a hundred paces. But the ultimate ideal is when the sword disappears altogether. The warrior embraces all around him. The desire to kill no longer exists. Only peace remains." - Hero

There has been much suffering since January 3rd of 2006.
So be it.
May God bless us with discomfort at easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships,
so that we may live deep within our hearts.
May God bless us with anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people,
so that we may work for justice, freedom and peace.
May God bless us with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation and war,
so that we may reach out our hands to comfort them and turn their pain into joy.
And may God bless us with enough foolishness to believe that we can make a difference in this world,
so that we can do what others claim cannot be done.
Amen.

Hope.
"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." Proverbs 16:24. Your words struck deep to me today.
Agreed on the hard year.
Peace to you

God has been with us and He has been faithful. The plan He has for our "full house" may not have been part of your plan but it has worked and we are happy to be a part of the babies' daily living. I lift my fist with you, oh yes I do!
so be it.
