My expectations for Sister Helen Prejean were through the roof.

She greatly exceeded them.

Everyone who spoke said great, inspiring words about faith and justice (with applause every few sentences)...but she just simply updated her life, her life with new death row inmates, her life with the poor...and invited us to do the same. We only applauded twice.

We will be with her for an hour this evening...I hope to meet her.
